Transports in Lappeenranta

The area of Lappeenranta is quite big and wide, therefore moving from place to place can be a little bit complicated if you do not own a car. Some places can be far away where public transports do not reach or they are located on an island.

Zones

Lappeenranta public transport area is divided into four zones.

Zone A covers the Lappeenranta local public transport area

Zone B covers Joutseno-Nuijamaa-Vainikkala-Pulsa

Zone C covers the Ylämaa area

Zone D is for travellers using tickets issued by the City of Lappeenranta on services between Lappeenranta-Joutseno-Imatra.

Day ticket is valid 24 hours and it can be bought from Winkki (in the City Hall), Waltti-service centre in Joutseno or University’s Aalef store.

Boat Rent

Saimaa is the fourth biggest lake in Europe so why not to spend a whole day on water and find an island for a picnic.

Drakkar rents out kayaks, SUP boards and rowing boats. From Drakkar it is possible to book guided canoeing and cycling trips, moreover canoeing trainings too.
